Audrey Hepburn was born in Brussels, Belgium on May 4, 1929. She was born to a wealthy banker and a Dutch baroness. However, her parents did not stay together. Once her father and mother were divorced, Audrey Hepburn went to live with her mother in London. She spent her childhood attending private schools in London as well as in the Netherlands. While she was on vacation with her mother in Holland, she ended up in the midst of a Nazi occupation of the town. During this period of time, Audrey Hepburn had problems with malnutrition and depression.
After the town in Holland was freed from the Nazi's, Audrey Hepburn moved to London to attend a ballet school. While she was going through her schooling, she worked as a model. She was happy being a model, but soon she was found by movie producers. She started off much like the other actors and actresses of her time playing small roles. These roles eventually got bigger, and before she knew it, Audrey Hepburn was playing lead roles in movies. She made her final film in 1989, which was entitled Always. Throughout her time as an actress, she had made many movies that were box office hits.
During the 1960's, Audrey Hepburn decided to slow down on the amount of movies that she was making and begin a charity. She did a lot of work for the UNICEF foundation. People magazine had names Audrey Hepburn as one of the 50 most beautiful people in the world. She was known not only for her physical beauty, but her giving nature as well. Audrey Hepburn was a beautiful person both inside and out. She passed away on January 20, 1993. She died from appendicular cancer. Throughout her life, she made a total of 31 movies, but she will always be remembered for the work that she had done with the UNICEF foundation.
