Robert Pattinson was born in 1986 in London, England. He was extremely interested in music, and he plays the piano and the guitar. He began taking piano lessons at the young age of 3. He then started taking classical guitar lessons when he was 5. This makes him a unique part of the film industry because he is able to compose music for various movies.

Pattinson started his acting career when he was 15 by playing small roles, which is something that most every actor and actress does before they get their start. After doing amateur plays with the Barnes Theatre Company, he moved on and did his first film role in Curse of the Ring.

After he met with Mike Newell in 2003, Pattinson got his first major role in Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire. In this movie, he played Cedric Diggory. This was an interesting role for him because he had to learn how to scuba dive. He quickly made friends with the other actors and actresses that worked on the set with him. You may be thinking that it would be difficult to learn how to scuba dive for a movie role, but this is not all that Pattinson had to learn before he played this role. He also had to know how to drive. Prior to the filming of Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire, he did not know how to drive. He was given a 10 hour-long crash course on the set so he would be able to learn.

The Twilight films where were Pattinson's career really took off. He played the role of Edward Cullen, which is one of the main roles in the movie. The Twilight series started out as novels that were then formatted to fit the screen. There were a lot of people that already had a love for the books that were written by Stephanie Meyer, and this was what made all of the Twilight films box office hits. People were excited to see the books come to life.

Pattinson has a couple of different roles in new movies that are coming out. He plays roles in both How to Be and Little Ashes.

In 2011, he adopted a puppy with Kristen Stewart, who is his girlfriend. They moved in together in Louisiana while they were filming the latest two movies in the Twilight saga. They decided to name the puppy Bear.
